Agnes Hawkins Rites Monday

Mrs. Agnes V. Hawkins, 316 East Brookfield, died Thursday morning in St. Joseph Medical Center. She was 77. Born March 5, 1902 in Rolla, Mo., she was the daughter of Levi and Mary HILL.
Educated in Joplin, Mo., she worked as a young woman in a bakery in Joplin. She married Roy D. Hawkins in Joliet, Ill., August 15, 1923, and the couple made their first home at Topeka. They later resided in Joplin and Tulsa before coming to Ponca City in 1935.
Hawkins was employed by Continental Oil Co. He died July 28, 1961. Mrs. Hawkins was a member of the First Christian Church, Beauceant, Dauber's China Painters, and Fine Arts Department of Ponca City Women's Club.
Surviving are a son, Jack Hawkins Dallas, one daughter, Mrs. Joyce Leonard, 1709 Holbrook; a brother, Roy Hill, Caliente, Nev.; four sisters, Mrs. Jim Corrent, Pine, Ariz., Mrs. M. Riddle, Mrs. Tony Arnini and Mrs. Willard Stoney, all of Montebello, Calif.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday in Grace Memorial Chapel with Dr. Bill Masters, Pastor of First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. The casket will be closed following the service, but friends may call at the chapel until 12 noon. The family will be at the Leonard residence on Holbrook.
A memorial fund has been established with the Heart Fund, and contributions may be made in Mrs. Hawkins' name through the First National Bank and Trust Co.
